DIY Custom Kindergarten Tote Bag With a Twist
July is when we start thinking about the fall and the new school year in our family. A few months ago I purchased a Cricut
in order to create iron on name decals to put on my boys jackets because it seemed like they were loosing a dozen jackets every school year.
This year I wanted to create a special bag for Lanea, who will be starting Kindergarten in the fall. With my Cricut cutting machine customizing this tote took less than 15 minutes.
What I love about this modern Kindergarten tote is that you can easily transform it into a book bag or ballet bag by adding a little tag or zipper charm.
A fun little twist would be to make this tote's back a blank canvas that your child's friends can sign. Make sure to leave the twill tape kite name tag for your child to sign.
For the first day of school, l make sure to pack the essentials such as an extra pair of clothes, a small water bottle and snack. But most importantly, I'll make sure to decorate a simple folder in her favorite color with her favorite people so she'll have something to look at if she ever gets sad during her first day at school.
What you need:
- Iron to apply the iron on decal

While doing one of our production runs, we found this beautiful flora upholstery fabric. Just a small amount left behind and abandoned - and we thought this design would make the perfect textile for a Hawaiian tote pack.
